Bike tour Description:
This unique CZ EuroTour bike tour has been prepared particularly for American, Canadian and Australian clients. Of course it is also suitable for tourists from Europe
and Asia. Its romantic routes are designed to enable visiting and discovering the most beautiful landmarks along the entire route. The tour leads through central
and west Bohemia. We will visit most renowned landmarks, various urban listed preserves and western part of the Czech Republic, which with its landscape and
beautiful castles and chateaus is one of the most beautiful area in Czechia.
Program of this tour includes on schedule 4 or 5 days cycling, 5 or 6 days hotel accommodation incl. comfortable and reliable return Car / VAN transfer
from Domazlice to Prague. On request a cheaper Train transfer.
The tour can be shortened or extended at your request, or transfers in a VAN can replace some parts of the tour. Self-guided bike tours or guided bike tours
are available.
Bike touring Daily program:
Day 1 Prague arrival day
This day begins with a welcome at the airport and transfer to your hotel for accommodation. Today we will rest and discover the magical places of Prague.
We suggest visiting the historic UNESCO-protected city center, Prague Castle and its gardens, the Petøín lookout tower from where we can take some birds-eye
pictures of Prague or we can enjoy a river boat ride on the Vltava river. After your sightseeing we will have a welcome dinner ready for you in a restaurant.
Day 2 Prague - Køivoklát : cycling 44 km / 27 miles
After a hearty breakfast, we will get ready for the first from our 6 or 7 days journey. We will leave Prague and set out into Krivoklat castle. We will ride
through protected landscape area "Krivoklatsko" and through beautiful Krivoklat forests. In the afternoon and after an accommodation, we will leave for
Krivoklat castle sightseeing. The castle of Krivoklat belongs to the oldest and most important castles of the Czech princes and kings. The history of its construction
starts in the 12th century. After an optional visit of Krivoklat, we can set out on a visit of the interesting places in the surrounding.
Day 3 Køivoklát - Zbiroh : cycling 30 km / 19 miles
From Krivoklat, we will go through beautiful Krivoklat forests to Zbiroh chateaux in the morning. The first mention of Zbiroh castle in writing dates from the year 1230.
In the year 1879 the Castle was bought by the Colloredo-Mansfeld family and from 1943 to 1945 the Castle was used by the SS as its headquarters. After 1945 was used
by the Czech army. The completely renovated mansion has been open to the public since June 2005. After an optional visit of Zbiroh chateaux we will be accommodated there.
Day 4 Zbiroh - Plzeò (Pilsen) : cycling 46 km / 29 miles
We will say good-bye to Zbiroh chateaux and will go through a beautiful landscape to Rokycany and Plzen (Pilsen) - a famous town of beer. We will spend here
leisure time walking through city center. We can visit the Beer museum, the Patton Memorial Pilsen, the Saint Bartolomej cathedral, the Pilsen Historical Underground
or the Museum of ghosts and fairy tales. After a dinner
with original Pilsen beer, we definitely recommend you to enjoy a romantic evening walk round the city center.
Day 5 Plzeò - Doma¾lice : cycling 65 km / 40 miles
From Plzen, we will set out on a longest route from our journey - to Domazlice, a border town in Western Bohemia, which is a heritage town-center reserve and
where we will last time get accommodated. In the afternoon we will focus on the square with arcades, Chodsky castle, Municipal House and especially the City Tower,
which, similarly to the Pisa tower in Italy, is leaning from its axis by about 60 cm. We will wrap up the evening with a goodbye dinner, shop for some gifts and
get ready for our return to Prague. But if we chose 7 day tour, we expect the next day and it's one the most challenging mountain trail to the observatory Cerchov.
We can pass on a bike or part of a more demanding mountain hike to go on foot.
Day 6A Doma¾lice - Èerchov lookout - Doma¾lice : cycling 39 km / 24 miles
Today we suggest to start with the last biking route, a bit challenging, but unforgettable. We will set out to the first of places which
were under control of the Czech Army and inaccessible to the public until 1990. It is the tallest peak of Czech Forest, the foothills of Sumava, called Cerchov,
1, 042 meters high. We shouldn`t forget our camera for taking pictures from the Kurz lookout tower on the top of Cerchov or from the memorial of J.S. Baar, a famous local
writer. In good weather we might even see the distant peaks of the Austrian Alps. After returning from a difficult tour and after dinner slowly prepare for tomorrow
morning to return to Prague.
Day 6B Doma¾lice - Prague : VAN transfer 165 km / 102 miles
Having spent our last night in the Czech Republic in Domazlice, after breakfast the Car / Van will pick us up at the hotel and we will head straight to Prague airport.
Thus we end our romantic biking tour through some of the most beautiful parts of the Czech Republic. We may be looking forward to going home but someplace inside,
we tell ourselves we will certainly come back again.
Day 7 Doma¾lice - Prague : VAN transfer 165 km / 102 miles
Having spent our last night in the Czech Republic in Domazlice, after breakfast the Car / Van will pick us up at the hotel and we
will head straight to Prague airport. Thus we end our romantic biking tour through some of the most beautiful parts of the Czech
Republic. We may be looking forward to going home but someplace inside, we tell ourselves we will certainly come back again.
